About The Position

The Patient Greeter provides front-desk support in a busy medical pavilion and serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and vendors. This role focuses on creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient entry experience by supporting check-in, wayfinding, and basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar front-desk role in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume foot traffic and phone calls while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Ability to enter and update information accurately in electronic systems.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality requirements and HIPAA compliance.
  • High school diploma (H.S. Diploma) required.
  • Clerical and front-desk experience in a healthcare or medical environment.

  • Experience with prior authorizations in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner.
  • Check patients into the building and verify basic registration or appointment information as needed.
  • Provide clear directions and general information to help patients locate departments, offices, or services within the medical pavilion.
  • Manage high-volume foot traffic and phone inquiries while maintaining excellent customer service at all times.
  • Enter and update visitor or patient information accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) and other electronic systems, as required.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support smooth patient flow throughout the facility.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and all facility policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the front desk and waiting areas to help ensure a safe, organized, and clean environment for patients and visitors.
  • Support general front-desk and clerical tasks as assigned, such as filing, data entry, and handling routine inquiries.
