About The Position

Capital Health is seeking a Patient Estimator Rep to provide estimates and out-of-pocket financial responsibility information to uninsured and self-pay patients. This role involves assisting patients with financial assistance options, answering questions about insurance, and responding to inquiries regarding out-of-pocket amounts due. The position is full-time, day shift, with a scheduled weekly hour of 40.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of previous work experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic (ICD-10), procedural (CPT) coding and other related medical terminology.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including database software.
Familiarity with multiple internet search engines.

Nice To Haves

Experience in customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages calls and emails from website for pricing requests.
Determines contracted rate for services using patient's insurance information and doctor's orders.
Runs patients' benefits information through Capital Health's eligibility tool to determine out of pocket amounts.
Communicates estimate of patients' out of pocket amounts verbally and sends a completed Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to the patient via email or mail.
Acts as a liaison between Credit and Collection and the Medicaid/Charity Care vendor to assist patients with signing up for financial assistance.
Works with Central Scheduling and the clinics to ensure that all patients receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE).
Performs other duties for the department as needed and assigned.
