Capital Health is seeking a Med Office Coordinator to work independently to assure prompt patient service both on the telephone and at the front desk. This role oversees the registration and checkout process and the handling of electronic medical records to ensure an efficient flow of patients through the office. The coordinator performs essential functions and coordinates the performance of staff related to these functions. They review issues promptly with providers, handle patient problems and complaints, and refer difficult situations to the Director/Manager. The role involves answering telephones, preparing for the day, greeting patients, informing them of privacy policies and delays, performing registration, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, collecting co-payments, obtaining necessary documentation, and referring patients to CBO staff for balance inquiries. The coordinator also reviews patient account notes, accepts accountability for work lists on their dashboard, confirms charges, approves claim creations, and works daily reports and hold claim work lists. They schedule follow-up appointments, complete referrals and pre-authorizations, create and reconcile time of service batches, and perform clerical duties such as processing mail and confirming appointments. This position may also be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed.
