About The Position
As a Patient Escort, you help ensure the safe, comfortable, and efficient transport of patients within Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (CHMC). You support patients throughout their hospital journey and contribute to a positive, professional atmosphere while upholding CHMC’s mission and vision. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of the Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support class at the time of hire or transfer.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere, interacting effectively with patients experiencing physical or emotional stress.
- Safely transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or ambulatory means to and from hospital areas for testing, treatment, and transfers.
- Use proper lifting techniques and body mechanics to ensure patient safety.
- Clean and maintain transportation equipment daily to help prevent injuries.
- Deliver specimens, blood products, patient charts, and other materials to hospital departments.
- Promote guest relations by anticipating and responding to needs with courtesy, respect, and confidentiality.
