About The Position

The Patient Dining Associate performs patient meal service for the Department of Food and Nutrition and is responsible for service on assigned units. Duties include obtaining menu selections, assembling and delivering trays, making catering rounds, retrieving trays, recording intake and calorie counts, responding to special requests, maintaining galley and floor stock, and delivering nourishments. The associate communicates directly with nursing staff to obtain updated diet orders and responds to the needs of patients, families, and nursing staff. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position at Memorial Hospital Belleville. The stated schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some evenings as well. The position is benefits eligible. No experience is required.

Responsibilities

Deliver patient meals to assigned areas, document meals and calorie intake, and round on patients according to department expectations.
Assemble meal trays and menus according to guidelines.
Communicate patient diets, meal delivery, and special requests with the patient care team.
Maintain an organized and stocked galley.
Retrieve trays, make catering rounds, maintain floor stock, and deliver nourishments.
Communicate with nursing staff to obtain updated diet orders and respond to patient, family, and nursing needs.
