About The Position

The Patient Coordinator administers the daily desk operations to ensure excellent customer service and front-end operations in the Specialty clinics for both patients and students while meeting educational and fiscal goals. This position strives to make each phase of treatment a very positive experience for all patients from the initial phone call on through the delivery of care to completion.

  • Ability to ensure excellent front-end operations in specialty clinics.
  • Skill in making each phase of treatment a positive experience for patients.
  • Ability to answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Capability to check messages and return calls.
  • Skill in greeting scheduled patients, checking them in, and notifying doctors.
  • Ability to actively listen to patient complaints, provide feedback, and recommend solutions.
  • Willingness to reach out to supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in scheduling appointments and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Ability to assist patients with coordination of department referrals.
  • Skill in answering treatment, billing, and benefit questions.
  • Capability to triage emergency patients.
  • Ability to provide support to students with patient care management issues.
  • Understanding of and adherence to established business practices, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming calls and direct as needed.
  • Check messages and return calls.
  • Greet all scheduled patients, checking them in as arrivals and notifying their doctors.
  • Actively listens in the details of a patient complaint, provides feedback, recommends solutions, and reaches out to supervisors in an effort to resolve issues as needed.
  • Scheduling appointments ensuring continuity of care.
  • Assisting patients with coordination of department referrals.
  • Answering treatment/billing/benefit questions.
  • Triage emergency patients.
  • Provides support to each student with their patient care management issues allowing them to devote their time to the delivery of patient care.
  • Responsible to carry out the established business practices and policies and procedures set forth by the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
