About The Position
The Patient Care Technician serves as a supportive member of the patient care team, assisting with routine and non-complex aspects of patient care. The technician assists RNs, LPNs, and physicians in the patient care process and may be assigned additional duties within the scope of the role. This full-time position is in the Emergency Department at Prattville Baptist Hospital and works third shift.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- BLS certification required.
- Knowledge of body mechanics, basic safety, and principles of physical care and comfort.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA).
- Completion of a first clinical rotation as a nursing student, such as a Nursing Fundamentals course covering activities of daily living and vital signs, or one year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home, or home care setting.
- Training in medical terminology.
