About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on patient care and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. The PCT assists with patients’ daily needs, helps monitor their conditions, and supports care plans. The role calls for attention, empathy, and teamwork to promote comfort and dignity for patients. The position is with HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital, a 238-bed acute care hospital serving Bay County and surrounding communities. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
Requirements
- Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of the employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
- Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
- Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
- Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
- Support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, monitoring patient conditions, and carrying out care plans.
