About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a Full Time and Part Time Patient Care Technician to join our Pre-Anesthesia Services team in Springfield, MA. Baystate Health, Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care alongside our nursing team. Under the supervision of an RN, you'll assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring. PCT’s perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing. This role also includes assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and supporting emergency response protocols. This position also includes restocking the department and transporting patients. Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential. Requirements

• PCT training or CNA training, preferred
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required
• High School diploma or GED
• at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)
• Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health
• 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health
• Non-Graduate (Required)
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• Certified Nurse Aide - Other
