Patient Care Technician Full Time Days
About The Position
Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for Full Time Patient Care Technician to join our Wesson 3 team in Springfield, MA. This is a Full-time position with 36 hours per week, working 7am-7:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays. The Wesson 3 unit is a 24-bed Renal/Acute Dialysis/Medical Surgical Unit with telemetry monitoring, serving adult patients aged 22-100+. The unit cares for patients with diagnoses including renal/dialysis, sepsis, cellulitis, behavioral health, GI bleed, kidney transplant, syncope, and respiratory issues. It is a collaborative environment supporting a diverse and medically complex population.
Requirements
- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required
- High School diploma or GED
- At least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)
- Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health
- 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health
- Non-Graduate Education (Required)
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- Certified Nurse Aide - Other
Nice To Haves
- PCT training or CNA training, preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing.
- Assist with procedures, patient transport, and equipment management.
- Support emergency response protocols.
