About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team at HCA Florida Capital Hospital, supporting Registered Nurses in hands-on patient care and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The role assists with patients’ daily needs, including vital signs, mobility, and personal care, and helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. The PCT contributes attention, empathy, and teamwork to promote comfort and dignity for patients.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
