About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) - GI GU Surgery position at Texas Health Fort Worth is a full-time role on the day shift. This role is part of the Justin 4 unit, a 36-bed surgical unit specializing in colorectal, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients. The unit will initially open with 20 beds and expand to 36 beds later in the year. Patients admitted to this unit may be pre- or post-operative, with an average length of stay of approximately five days. The position involves providing direct patient care, collecting and reporting patient data, performing technical procedures, and collaborating with nurses to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program.
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire
Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire
1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
