The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences. This specific role is for the GI GU Surgical Unit (Justin 4) at Texas Health Fort Worth, which is a 36-bed unit caring for colorectal, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients, with an average patient length of stay of approximately five days. The unit operates with a PCT staffing ratio of 1:12 and requires 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call in response to census fluctuations.
