About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is part of a collaborative nursing team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The PCT assists with daily patient needs, helps monitor conditions and carry out care plans, and contributes to comfort, dignity, and recovery.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions, or completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous acute patient care experience in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Support Registered Nurses with patient care and monitoring.
