About The Position
Augusta Health is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician for the Surgical unit on the night shift. Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, the technician performs duties that assist unit staff nurses and clerical specialists in supporting efficient unit operations and safe patient care, following established procedures. Duties include bathing, dressing, and feeding patients; taking vital signs; performing phlebotomy; and conducting EKGs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet educational requirements associated with hospital certifications, such as Stroke or Orthopedic/Spine certifications.
- Hold an active Virginia State Board of Nursing CNA license, or be currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and have completed the first semester of clinical rotations, or enroll in and successfully complete Augusta Health’s in-house Patient Care Tech (PCT) program upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
Responsibilities
- Assist unit staff nurses and clerical specialists to support efficient unit operations and safe patient care.
- Bathe, dress, and feed patients.

- Follow established procedures under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
