Patient Care Technician, Night Shift - Surgical
About The Position
Augusta Health is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician for a surgical unit on the night shift. Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, the technician performs duties that assist unit staff nurses and clerical specialists in maintaining efficient unit operations and safe patient care in accordance with established procedures. Duties include bathing, dressing, and feeding patients; taking vital signs; performing phlebotomy; and performing EKGs. Augusta Health is a mission-driven, independent, nonprofit community health system located in Fishersville, Virginia. Its services include Augusta Medical Center, a 255-bed inpatient facility, Augusta Medical Group with 40 practice locations, and four urgent care locations. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet educational requirements applicable to hospital certifications, such as Stroke or Orthopedic/Spine certifications.
- Hold an active Virginia State Board of Nursing CNA license, or be currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and have completed the first semester of clinical rotations, or enroll in and successfully complete Augusta Health’s in-house Patient Care Tech (PCT) program upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
