About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses in providing hands-on patient care. The role helps create a safe, welcoming environment and assists patients with daily needs, including vital signs, mobility, and personal care. The PCT helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans, using attention, empathy, and teamwork to support patient comfort, dignity, and recovery.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Support Registered Nurses in monitoring patient conditions and carrying out care plans.
• Assist with daily patient needs, including vital signs and personal care.
