Patient Care Technician Inpatient - SMCF Med/Surg - FT Nights
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver during the scheduled work period, providing patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role is suited to nursing assistants and patient care technicians at all experience levels. The PCT works with nursing staff to create a welcoming environment that supports healing and provides compassionate, high-quality care. This position is in the SMCF Med/Surg department and works straight nights, with 8- and 12-hour shifts. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday. The position is scheduled for 36 hours per week.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- If working in North Dakota without CNA certification, be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry after completing training and competency validation, or within a maximum of four months from initial employment.
- If working in Wisconsin, be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility, or be a student nurse enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or GED; preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
