Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • CNA - Certified Nurses Aide Upon Hire Required Or PCT Training Program Upon Hire Required Or Other Junior I or higher level Professional Nursing student with proof of completion on nursing fundamentals. Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance according to the plan of care, supports activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences, and serves as a patient advocate.
  • Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to the nurse, and communicates per department expectations including ethical and legal concerns.
  • Assists in patient transitions and ensures documentation is accurate and appropriate throughout the process.
  • Performs procedures safely and proficiently, enters orders when applicable, and takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Works in partnership with nurses and other disciplines to adapt care for diverse populations, incorporating cultural and religious needs.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to changing schedules or workloads, welcomes new team members, and uses interpersonal skills to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Maintains and enhances care skills, seeks supervision when needed, participates in process improvement, and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and personnel policies.
