About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join their team at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This is a full-time position working nights on a 38-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit specializing in Neuro PCU. The unit cares for patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions, including those requiring hemicraniectomy, aneurysm clip and coils, glioblastomas, carotid endarterectomy, TIA, stroke (hemorrhagic and ischemic), neurosurgery, seizures, and brain mass. The team nursing model is utilized, emphasizing teamwork in providing safe, quality, and compassionate patient care. The unit includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and is part of an award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Requirements

  • Graduate of RN School of Nursing
  • ADN required
  • Must be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Functions competently and effectively under pressure and emergency situations
  • Graduated from an Accredited Program
  • Specialized field of study should be nursing
  • RN license
  • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 12-18 Months of RN experience, Acute Care or Hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients on a 38-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit specializing in Neuro PCU.
  • Work within the team nursing model, collaborating with colleagues to provide safe, quality, and compassionate patient care.
  • Care for patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions including hemicraniectomy, aneurysm clip and coils, glioblastomas, carotid endarterectomy, TIA, stroke (hemorrhagic and ischemic), neurosurgery, seizures, and brain mass.
  • Utilize telemetry monitoring for patient care.
  • Contribute to the functioning of a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
  • Support the operations of an award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Center.
