About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Neuro PCU, PRN Nights role at Texas Health Fort Worth involves providing direct patient care and assistance based on the established plan of care and patient/family preferences. The PCT will be responsible for collecting and reporting patient data, supporting admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and performing technical procedures safely while documenting care accurately. This role requires collaboration with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and proactively meeting patient and visitor needs. The PCT will also demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines, participate in process improvement, adhere to safety goals, and advocate for patients. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program.
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
  • Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B)
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program
  • 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
