About The Position
The Patient Care Technician supports patient health outcomes by covering nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions throughout the hospital. The role develops clerical and communication skills, age-appropriate nursing care expertise, and collaboration in patient care and services. The position is per diem with variable scheduling on the day shift at the Pre/Post Surgery unit.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible; must apply within seven days of hire.
- Must obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure.
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible.
- MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a health care environment.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions.
- Provide care for patients across diverse ethnic and social groups using strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with a health care practitioner or registered nurse to provide comprehensive quality care.
