About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for Full Time Patient Care Technician to join our Acute Care for Elders team in Springfield, MA. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week, working from 7am to 7:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays. The Daly 6A unit is an Acute Care for Elders/Medical Telemetry unit. It is a collaborative, growing team led by an engaged Manager committed to professional development and patient experience. The unit has 39 beds serving older adults, including 16 semi-private rooms and 5 end-of-life care rooms. There are opportunities to participate in nurse-driven change initiatives with strong staffing support.

Requirements

• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required (for all levels)
• High School diploma or GED (for Level II, III, and IV)
• At least one year of patient care experience (for Level II)
• Three or more years of patient care experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health (for Level III)
• 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health (for Level IV)

Nice To Haves

• PCT training or CNA training, preferred (for Level I)

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing.
• Assist with procedures, patient transport, and equipment management.
• Support emergency response protocols.
