About The Position
The Patient Care Technician works in the Emergency Department at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The role supports compassionate, fast-paced care for patients across all age groups as part of a collaborative clinical team. The technician provides direct patient care under RN or provider supervision and helps maintain a safe, prepared Emergency Department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills with patients and care teams.
- BLS/AHA certification required.
Nice To Haves
- EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant experience.
- Prior Emergency Department experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under RN/provider supervision.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), patient transport, and procedures.
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
- Support EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
- Prepare rooms and equipment and maintain Emergency Department readiness.
