Patient Care Technician - Full Time Nights - Med Surg

About The Position

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to the delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. This position is in the Med Surg department and is full-time nights.

Requirements

Meet one of the following qualification pathways: hold active Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or qualify as a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; alternatively, hold national EMT licensure. Applicable licensure must remain active during employment.
Nursing students eligible for the CNA exam must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited RN/LPN nursing school; if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for an ASN/BSN degree or the first trimester for an LPN program; and not currently be licensed in the U.S. as an RN or LPN.
Applicants with Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification must provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board-approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
Employees hired without the specified licensure and/or based on years of experience only before 11/11/19 are grandfathered in and have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.
High school diploma, GED, or certificate.
Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
Undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a person providing care to vulnerable populations.
