About The Position

The Patient Care Technician provides patient-related care tasks based on growth and development principles across the life span of patients served in the unit. Under the direct supervision of a licensed caregiver, the technician assists with patient care, observes and reports changes in patient condition, and documents care accurately in the medical record. This role is part of a 28-bed, all-private-room inpatient Neuro Unit caring for a higher-acuity medical population, primarily patients with neurological conditions. Patients include those with acute stroke, varied neurological diagnoses, behavioral or confused presentations, and alcohol withdrawal. Many admissions arrive through the Emergency Department, creating a fast-paced environment with frequent new admissions and changing care needs. This is a part-time night-shift position consisting of two 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Self-scheduling is offered for shift and weekend coverage; workdays may vary and are not fixed.
