About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Technician in Geriatric Behavioral Health at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, KS. The position is located at St. Joseph facility and operates on the Night Shift as PRN. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• High School Diploma or GED OR an active CNA Certification required.
• Previous experience in a caregiving role

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance with basic patient care under the guidance of licensed nursing staff
• Support safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nursing team promptly
• Accurately document care activities and observations in patient records
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and ensure medical equipment is properly cared for and ready for use
