Patient Care Technician - Med Surg
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) assists professional nursing staff in providing safe, compassionate, and quality care to patients on the Med/Surg Unit. The role includes assisting with bathing, feeding, meal trays, bed making, ambulation, intake and output (I&O), daily weights, and vital signs. The PCT accurately documents care provided in patients’ medical records and assists patients in ways that promote their safety, comfort, and well-being. The PCT follows instructions from physicians and licensed nursing staff in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. The schedule is 32 hours per week, from 4:00 PM to 4:30 AM, every weekend.
Requirements
- BLS/CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous PCT experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with bathing, feeding, meal trays, bed making, and ambulation.
- Measure and record intake and output, daily weights, and vital signs.
- Accurately document care provided in the patient’s medical record.
- Assist patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and well-being.
