About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs a variety of functions in a clinical setting, including providing direct patient care, performing phlebotomy and EKGs, and collaborating with and working under the direction of a registered nurse to provide appropriate and safe patient care. The PCT uses the hospital information system to order diagnostic tests and therapies and to obtain patient information and test results. The PCT supports the hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The PCT is expected to meet attendance standards, complete hospital-wide mandatory education, orientation, and departmental competency testing, participate in continuing education, and adapt to floating to other units when required.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Up-to-date CPR certification; CPR certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
- Certified Nurse Assistant.
- Phlebotomy training or certificate.
- Compliant with PPD requirements.
Nice To Haves
- EKG training and/or certificate preferred.
- One year of hospital experience in a clinical setting preferred; new graduates are accepted.
