About The Position
The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking full-time Patient Care Technicians for its Pediatric Specialty Hospital. Under the clinical direction of an RN and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the PCT provides care to patients and their families and maintains a safe, clean, and therapeutic patient-care environment. The position works three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating between days and nights, and includes every other weekend and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with patients, family members, and medical staff in sensitive situations.
- Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift 10 to 50 pounds; stamina for frequent lifting and moving of patients and carrying supplies and equipment.
- Emotional and mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year of experience is preferred, or enrollment in secondary healthcare worker training such as nursing school or CNA training.
