About The Position

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on our Surgery Oncology Unit, you'll be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing surgery and cancer treatment. Working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals, you'll provide hands-on support that enhances patient comfort, safety, and recovery. The Surgery Oncology Unit is a 32-bed inpatient adult comprehensive multidisciplinary department that provides specialized care for both surgical and oncology patients. This unique combination offers valuable exposure to a wide range of patient conditions and treatments, making it an excellent environment for learning and professional growth.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire
- Successful completion of PCT classes as required by the care center/unit
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, and linen changes
- Supporting mobility, ambulation, repositioning, and transfers to promote healing and independence
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and reporting observations to the care team
- Accurately documenting patient information in medical records
- Providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families during important moments in their care journey
