About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works in the Med Telemetry Unit and reports to the Shift Manager of the assigned area. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides high-quality, individualized basic care within the Nursing Assistant scope of practice. The position accepts assignments in hospital units for which the employee is qualified through completion of a unit-specific checklist.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant certification, or a current transcript showing completion of the second semester of nursing school when hired or transferred into the position.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Three months of skilled nursing or hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, individualized basic care activities within the Nursing Assistant scope of practice under the direction of an RN or Charge Nurse.
• Accept assignments in hospital units for which qualified through completion of a unit-specific checklist.
