Patient Care Technician - Operating Room

The Patient Care Technician’s role and responsibilities in the Operating Room: 40 hours per week, 7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday No weekends, no holidays, and no call Assists with transporting and positioning of patients, handling and stocking supplies and equipment, and preparing and cleaning of operating rooms. Demonstrating age-appropriate skills and ability. Age groups may include infant, toddler, school-aged/adolescent, adult, and older adult.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse’s Aide certification in the State of Kansas
- BLS certification
- Knowledge and understanding of surgery housekeeping requirements, to include sterile environments
- Possess a high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient-care assessment activities
- Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Occasional overhead, and low reaching
- Ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Training or experience in a healthcare Facility required
Nice To Haves
- Experience in transporting patients preferred
- Understanding of surgery housekeeping requirements including sterile environments preferred
