The Perioperative Patient Care Technician assists the clinical team with indirect patient care and performs nonpatient-care duties in the operating room. Duties include turning over rooms by removing trash, cleaning the operating room and table, preparing the table, and mopping the floor; gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases; changing operating room tables as needed; and setting up operating rooms for the next case or the first case of the day, including preparing the bed and positioning necessary equipment. The PCT also transports specimens to the laboratory and returns supplies to CSP, putting away items stored in the operating room area. The position involves being on one's feet throughout the shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed. The role is based in a fast-paced surgical environment with 30 operating rooms and more than 70 surgeries each day, supporting complex cases and a growing surgical services team.
