About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Patient Care Technician (PCT) for our Specialty Medical Observation Unit. This role reports to the Unit Manager and performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT provides a variety of services such as activities of daily living, vital signs, EKGs, and glucose checks to meet the health care, safety, and comfort needs of patients. This role operates in a high activity work environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. The position is in the Medicine Division with no floating outside of this division. Hartford Hospital offers a supportive environment to promote professional and interpersonal development and growth. Requirements

  • No experience required, training provided on-site.
  • Successful completion of PCT specific HHC orientation.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
  • Current certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated functions as a member of a patient care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Provide a variety of services such as activities of daily living, vital signs, EKGs, and glucose checks.
  • Contribute to meeting the health care, safety, and comfort needs of patients.
  • Adhere to all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
