The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation, and supply management under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director. PCTs maintain unit cleanliness and organization. They may also perform office assistant duties, answer patient questions within their capabilities, and handle data entry and collection. Specific roles include assisting discharged patients with logistics and resources, coordinating discharge planning, and potentially working in a Float/Flex Pool capacity to cover various hospital needs, including Patient Safety Attendant duties. The PCT follows all Northern Arizona Healthcare policies and procedures, performs procedures within their scope of practice, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team. They may care for patients across all age groups. The Float/Flex Pool PCT may be required to work on any unit, change departments during a shift, or act as a Patient Safety Attendant, ceasing PCT duties if assigned to 1:1 observation. Call is required for the Float/Flex Pool PCT. This position is on-site only.
