About The Position
Jefferson Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician II for the ENT/Neuro/Trauma unit at the Thomas Jefferson University Campus. The position provides direct bedside care to patients and reports to the Nurse Manager. The schedule requires rotating day and night shifts, three 12-hour shifts weekly, every third weekend, and one holiday per season. Schedules are available six weeks in advance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One of the following: PCT or related certification, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or EMT.
- At least 2 years of nursing assistant, PCT, or healthcare experience; certification and completion of advanced skills and knowledge training within six months of hire may be accepted instead.
- AHA BLS certification.
- Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, three 12-hour shifts weekly, every third weekend, and one holiday per season.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned nursing procedures to support patient comfort and well-being.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for assigned patients, including flow sheets.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens, including T&S and blood cultures.
- Assist physicians with examinations and tests as needed.
- Provide respiratory services and rehabilitation services.
