About The Position

The Patient Care Technician I - Per Diem, Evenings position is located at Chilton Medical Center in the Emergency Department. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, performing post-mortem care, and conducting EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring. The technician is responsible for observing and reporting changes in patient condition to the RN and maintaining phlebotomy equipment and inventory. This is a per diem position with evening shifts from 11 am to 11 pm.

Requirements

High school or GED
Associate degree
Bachelor's degree
Master's degree
Ph.D. or professional degree

Responsibilities

Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
Performs post mortem care
Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
Other related duties as assigned.
