About The Position

This is a development role at Main Line Health, aimed at providing talent with hands-on training and experience in healthcare. The program is designed to bridge the gap between education and career by offering practical learning opportunities, skill development, and mentorship. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be working collaboratively with the Nurses within the unit you are assigned. Your care and treatment of these patients is an integral part of the Patient Experience. You would be caring for patients by assisting with their daily living activities, taking vital signs, Accu-Checks, Phlebotomy, EKGs, and other nursing assistant responsibilities. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, this role leads to a permanent Full-Time Patient Care Tech position within Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must commit to the 8-week in-person program.
• Must be able to work both day and night shift.
• Must be able to work any of the outlined schedules permanently after training.
• Weekend and Holiday rotation are required.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to healthcare settings (e.g., volunteer work, internships) is a plus.
• Recently completed healthcare certifications or coursework is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities.
• Take vital signs.
• Perform Accu-Checks.
• Perform Phlebotomy.
• Perform EKGs.
• Perform other nursing assistant responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Nurses within the assigned unit.
• Provide care and treatment to patients, contributing to the Patient Experience.
