About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists nursing and receptionist staff with welcoming and rooming patients and supporting their health care needs. The role works under the supervision of the nurse, medical assistant, provider, advanced practice clinician, and clinic leadership for clinic patients. The position is based at Amberwell Atchison in Atchison, Kansas, and is full-time with an eight-hour day shift and no travel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Grammar and spelling skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to use computer software applicable to documenting in patient records.
- Ability to manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to manage others' anger, fear, hostility, or violence appropriately.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work alone.
- Ability to work in confined and/or crowded areas.
- Ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- Ability to stand 4–6 hours per day, sit 2–3 hours per day, and walk 3–4 hours per day.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks or motions, distinguish colors, hear alarms, telephone, tape recorder, and normal speaking voice, and demonstrate manual dexterity and eye/hand/foot coordination.
