About The Position

Fitzgibbon Hospital, a non-profit community hospital serving the Marshall, MO area, is seeking a self-driven and compassionate Patient Care Tech to join its Behavioral Health Unit (BHU). The BHU is a 10-bed inpatient unit providing care for patients aged 18-65 experiencing acute episodes of mental illness. The unit operates 24/7, offering psychiatry services, individual and group therapy, social work services, and round-the-clock nursing care in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Treatment focuses on patient-driven care to ensure successful discharge, with an average length of stay of 3-5 days, aiming to stabilize patients and connect them with community mental health services.

Requirements

• Behavioral health experience preferred
• Excellent bedside manner and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients needing treatment of acute episodes of mental illness.
• Offer psychiatry services, individual and group therapy, social work services, and 24/7 nursing care.
• Stabilize patients and integrate them into community mental health services.
