Licensed Practical Nurse - Behavioral Health Unit - BHU - Nights
About The Position
Fitzgibbon Hospital is seeking a self-driven, compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Behavioral Health Unit (BHU). The BHU is a 10-bed inpatient unit providing care for patients aged 18-65 experiencing acute episodes of mental illness. The unit operates 24/7 and accepts both voluntary and involuntary patients, offering psychiatry services, individual and group therapy, social work services, and 24/7 nursing care in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Treatment focuses on patient-driven care to ensure successful discharge, with an average length of stay of 3-5 days, aiming to stabilize patients and integrate them into community mental health services. The LPN performs selected duties for the production of health in the care of patients, delivering care according to protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Missouri RN license
- Current BLS/ACLS
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
