About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Tech provides direct and non-direct patient care within their scope of practice. As a versatile member of the care team, the role provides clinical support and a comforting presence to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. Preceptor duties may be assigned as needed.

The position is part of HSHS, a healthcare system serving communities in Illinois and Wisconsin through 13 hospitals and numerous community-based health centers and clinics. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant, successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program, or an active EMT license.
• One year of experience in patient or clinical care may be considered in lieu of the listed education or training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and non-direct patient care within the role's scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide clinical support as a versatile member of the care team.
• Offer a comforting presence to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness.
• Perform preceptor duties as assigned.
