About The Position

The Patient Care Tech works on the Telemetry Unit at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, a 28-bed unit specializing in cardiac monitoring and caring for a mix of medical-surgical patients. This is a fast-paced acute care environment with opportunities for learning and growth. Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Tech performs specific duties and selected interventions that support direct and indirect patient care. The role contributes to comprehensive care and a safe, efficient care environment in accordance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working with the care team, the Patient Care Tech also helps ensure a positive patient experience. The position involves multiple priorities and requires scheduling flexibility. Additional responsibilities and advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder, based on experience, skills, and certifications.

Requirements

No experience required; training is provided on-site.
Successful completion of PCT-specific HHC orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider credential within 60 days of hire or job transfer.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider credential.
Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.
