About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Telemetry department at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant helps patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. This is a full-time day-shift position with a stated schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
