About The Position

The Patient Care Tech works in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Trinity Health Livonia Campus under the direction of a registered nurse. The role provides direct patient care while considering patients’ age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs, and demonstrates unit- or area-designated competencies. The Patient Care Tech helps maintain a clean, safe care environment that supports patient and family well-being and relationship-based care. Available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. The posting lists full-time, part-time, and contingent/PRN status. Full-time and part-time team members are expected to work every other weekend and three holidays per year.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: at least one year of previous direct care experience in an acute-care or long-term-care setting, or successful completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course, or completion of the nursing fundamentals class in a BSN program for student nurses.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing care delegated by a registered nurse to help identify and attain treatment goals.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique when appropriate while performing delegated activities.
Help establish and maintain a clean, safe care environment conducive to patient and family well-being.
Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
Complete delegated unit-specific activities.
