About The Position

The Patient Care Tech works in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Trinity Health Livonia Campus. Under the direction of a registered nurse, the technician provides direct patient care while considering patients’ age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs and demonstrating unit- or area-designated competencies. The role helps establish and maintain a clean, safe care environment that supports patient and family well-being and relationship-based care.

Available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Full-time, part-time, and contingent/PRN positions are available. Full-time and part-time team members are required to work every other weekend and three holidays per year. This evergreen posting gathers applicants for current and future department openings.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED. Preferred qualifications include at least one year of direct care experience in an acute or long-term care setting, successful completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course, or— for student nurses—completion of the nursing fundamentals class in a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care delegated by the registered nurse to help identify and attain treatment goals.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities.
• Help establish and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment that supports patient and family well-being.
• Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
• Complete delegated unit-specific activities.
