About The Position

The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals by providing direct care to patients in various medical settings. This position focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay. The Patient Care Technician acts as a liaison between patients and nursing staff, communicating patient needs and changes in condition promptly. This role requires compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to contribute to positive patient outcomes. Ultimately, the Patient Care Technician helps enhance the overall patient experience by delivering high-quality, empathetic care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Patient Care Technician training program or equivalent certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as phlebotomy or EKG technician training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately.
  • Support nursing staff by preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Ensure patient rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing team promptly.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Assist with transporting patients to different areas within the healthcare facility as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols.
