About The Position

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to support the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. The technician assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures related to patients’ physical hygiene and comfort. Duties are performed as part of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team, sharing tasks with licensed and non-licensed team members.

Requirements

• Hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Be a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry; or hold one of the listed medical assistant credentials: Certified Medical Assistant awarded by AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant awarded by AMT, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by NHA.
• Have one year of patient care experience as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech, or in other relevant acute, direct patient care.

• Visual color acuity, depending on the role in specific units.
