About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is part of a collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses in providing hands-on patient care and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. The role assists patients with daily needs, including vital signs, mobility, transfers, personal care, and comfort, while helping nurses monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. The PCT also provides non-medicated care, maintains clean and stocked patient areas, manages supplies and equipment, and communicates with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality. This position is in the Surg S6 department at Riverside Community Hospital.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated or tested ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- CNA license as mandated by the state of practice.

- One or more years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
- Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
- Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
- Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
